On January 25, 2011 Deccan Chronicle reported that the state government has allowed the special investigation team (SIT) of the city police to prosecute Viqar Ahmed, the founder of the terror group Tehreek Galba-e-Islam (TGI), and his seven associates in connection with the killing of a cop and robbery at an e-Seva centre here. On October 27, 2008, Viqar, 29, and his aide, Syed Amjad Ali alias Suleman, robbed `3.91 lakh in cash from the e-Seva centre at Chikkadpally by threatening the staff at gun point.

On January 18, 2011 Hindustan Times reported that a Delhi Police constable has been arrested on charges of threatening the brother of a 26-year-old honour killing victim, who, along with his wife, was gunned down in the Ashok Vihar area of northwest Delhi in June last year. The accused, identified as Praveen Kumar, was arrested after Amit Singh, the brother of deceased Kuldeep Singh, complained to the police that he was being threatened by the policeman to not give a statement before the police.

On 30th December 2010, The Times of India reported that the Bhoiwada police on Wednesday arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter on the mezzanine floor of their chawl at Dadasaheb Phalke Road in Dadar on December 25. The accused, Mukhtar Siddique, reportedly raped his daughter in front of her mother and four brothers.

On November 26, 2010 the Times of India reported that three employees of Agra Central Jail, supposedly absconding since they raped a minor Nepali girl, abducted the victim once again and repeatedly outraged her modesty. They dumped the semi-conscious girl on the rail tracks 24 hours later, threatening her of worse if her family did not withdraw the rape case pending against them.
