Hyderabad: SIT to prosecute terrorist
On January 25, 2011 Deccan Chronicle reported that the state government has allowed the special investigation team (SIT) of the city police to prosecute Viqar Ahmed, the founder of the terror group Tehreek Galba-e-Islam (TGI), and his seven associates in connection with the killing of a cop and robbery at an e-Seva centre here. On October 27, 2008, Viqar, 29, and his aide, Syed Amjad Ali alias Suleman, robbed `3.91 lakh in cash from the e-Seva centre at Chikkadpally by threatening the staff at gun point.
