On February 20, 2012 Pune Mirror reported that when a couple of law enforcers decided to abuse their power it resulted in a nightmare for the family of a minor girl. To make matters worse, what started the whole episode of rape and led to an abortion was the girl innocently bringing the police a SIM card she found. Two policemen, currently posted at Saswad Police Station, have been booked for allegedly raping a 16-year-old minor girl and then shamelessly forcing her to abort the child that resulted out of the gruesome act.

On February 15, 2012 Times of India reported that an engineering college student, accused in the rape of a 19-year-old woman near Tambaram on February 5, was arrested on Monday. Navin, student of a private engineering college, consumed poison fearing arrest after police nabbed four of his friends on February 8. After he swooned in college, he was rushed to a hospital on the campus before being shifted to a private hospital.

On February 14, 2012 Bangalore Mirror reported that an employee of a bar and restaurant in Thyagaraja Nagar has helped the police solve the murder of a man whose body was abandoned in a gunny bag near the police station. The cops had a tough time with this case because they had no clue about the identity of the victim. They were informed about the gunny bag by nearby residents who said it looked suspicious. After failing to get any form of identity paper on his person, they distributed his photograph in the neighbourhood. The strategy worked as the restaurant employee stepped forward offering to help identify the victim.

She alleged that the incident took place in a local hotel on Tuesday night. Police have arrested Manish Baghel, while Subham is still out of police reach.

On February 09, 2012 Times of India reported that police have arrested four college students and launched a hunt for another student for allegedly raping a 19-year-old woman after spiking her drinks at a party. The arrested include the woman’s boyfriend K Sivanandan (19) of Anakaputhur. Police said Sivanandan, a first year hotel management student of a private college in the city, had taken the woman to a friend’s place Sunday evening where she passed out after having drinks. He dropped her at her place Monday morning after he and his friends allegedly raped her. The woman, a salesgirl in a supermarket, has been admitted to a government hospital in Egmore with bleeding injuries. She is now stable, doctors said.

On February 09, 2012 Times of India reported that the Thiruvananthapuram CBI Special Court on Wednesday sentenced the five accused in the sensational Kiliroor rape case to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court had on Monday found them guilty of the charges framed by the CBI investigation team. The case pertains to the accused soliciting a minor girl, Sari S Nair of Kiliroor in Kottayam by offering her a chance to act in television serials.

On February 08, 2012 The Pioneer reported that Delhi Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the abduction and repeated rape of the 14-year-old teenager. Rana Gupta and Salahuddin alias Rahul were picked up by the Special Cell on Monday and were subsequently arrested. South east district police that is investigating the case took the police custody of the duo as their questioning is required in the case.

On February 03, 2012 Hindustan Times reported that getting success in the Sonepat jailbreak case, the police on Thursday arrested one of the eight inmates, who had fled the jail by scaling a 20-foot high boundary wall on January 18. Superintendent of police KK Rao told Hindustan Times that Pramod was caught from Jakoli village near Rai in the afternoon. He is facing a trial in a murder case in a district court. The police have claimed that seven others would soon be arrested.
