On March 06, 2012 Mumbai Mirror reported that a 20-year-old man from Rajkot has been arrested in connection with the killing of a 60-year-old Pydhonie resident, whose decomposing body was recovered from his apartment two days ago. Sources said the man had confessed to the killing during interrogation, saying that he had committed the murder because the victim, Allahrakha Ibrahim Siddi, had forcibly had sex with him. On Friday, police had found Siddi’s body at the Ayesha Adam building near Zakaria Masjid after neighbours complained of foul smell coming from his apartment.

On March 05, 2012 Times of India reported that Bharat Singh Rathod, arrested for allegedly raping and killing his 12-year-old neighbour in Diva, has shown little remorse so far, said the police. The investigators have learnt that the 27-year-old accused had a strained relationship with his wife.

On March 02, 2012 Times of India reported that the police on Thursday took four youngsters, including two 17-year-olds, into custody for the abduction of a class 10 student from his house in MKB Nagar on February 26. Investigators said they rescued K Yuvaraj, 17, from the house of one of the abductors in Kodungaiyur and seized five countrymade pistols and 43 bullets.

On February 29, 2012 Hindustan Times reported that the Haryana Police on Monday night took a former army man into custody for allegedly killing his teenage daughter at Rewari Khera village in Bhiwani district. The 16-year-old girl was shot dead by her father, Ratanpal, police said. The reason for the shooting is, however, not clear.

On February 29, 2012 DNA reported that the Ranthambore Forest department officials arrested two poachers wanted in tiger poaching in the state on Monday afternoon. The poachers, Raju and Badri, were wanted in two cases of tiger killing in the year 1992 and 2004. Sources said both the poachers are arrested by officials of the Ranthambore Forest department. Raju, was arrested on an earlier occasion also by Sariska Forest department but was out on bail. Badri is known to be a notorious poacher who has several cases lodged against him in both the national parks.

On February 24, 2012 The Pioneer reported that a city court on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to seven members of a family, including a woman, for rioting and brutally murdering their neighbour with swords on a trivial issue of being asked by him to remove the debris they had disposed outside his house. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 35,000 on each of them. The court while, convicting the seven youths for killing a North Delhi resident Ajay, relied upon Ajay’s minor son’s statement, who was an eye witness to the gory crime.

On February 24, 2012 DNA reported that with the arrest of two youths, police claimed to have solved the mystery behind the murder of a property dealer who was found dead on Ring Road in Palasia area around a week ago. Suspicion of alleged illicit relationship was the reason behind the killing. Body of Vinay Bagora, a resident of Goyal Nagar, was found lying in a pool of blood at Scheme No 140 on February 17.

On February 23, 2012 Pune Mirror reported that the court of Additional Sessions Judge V K Shevale on Tuesday sentenced two persons to life imprisonment for killing a 30-year-old history-sheeter in 2007 in a brutal act of revenge. The accused were also slapped with a fine of Rs 1,000 . The court acquitted two others in the same case for lack of evidence. The accused have been identified as Shabbir Shamsuddin Shaikh (36) and Javed Rizwan Shaikh (22), both residents of Mithanagar in Kondhwa. The acquitted are Abdul Gani Khan (31) of Ghorpade Peth and Khalil Shamshuddin Shaikh (26) of Kondhwa.

On February 23, 2012 DNA reported that a 45-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight in MIG area on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Joshi, a resident of Rupesh Yadav Nagar. A trivial issue was stated to be the reason behind the crime. The killing occurred around 5pm when two miscreants– Dharmendra alias Nandkai Yadav and Jitendra, both residents of 260 Lalapura, allegedly attacked Joshi with sharp edged weapons near his house. The accused fled the scene soon after stabbing the victim in his vital parts.
