The accomplice of the accused, however, is still at large. Main accused Narayan was arrested for murder of a middle-aged man Udai Ahirwar, who worked as a godown keeper. Narayan with his accomplice Shankar asphyxiated Udai an agonising death.

On May 15, 2012 Times of India reported that the traffic police have booked the man who banged his bike against another, killing 12-year-old H Shailaja on Sunday, on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The 21-year-old accused, V Suresh, was drunk at the time of the incident and has been booked under section 304 (II) of the Indian Penal Code, police said. “This is a nonbailable case and he will have to spend time in jail,” said a police officer from the Guindy traffic investigation wing.

On May 11, 2012 Times of India reported that the D N Nagar police arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly killing his cousin who refused to unload his luggage from a taxi on Monday. Initially, the accused, Faizal Shaikh, told the police that his cousin, Asif (23), slipped on the floor and died. The post-mortem report suggested head injuries and later Shaikh confessed to the crime. Shaikh returned from Haj to his Andheri home on Monday morning and asked Asif to remove the luggage from the taxi’s trunk, which the latter refused.

On May 09, 2012 DNA reported that a 45-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife on Tuesday afternoon after a quarrel over denial of sex. The deceased has been identified as Krishnaveni, 40, and the incident happened at Motappana Palya in the Indiranagar police station limits. Her husband Perumal reportedly hit her head with a hammer. He is a scrap dealer and owns an old newspaper mart in the area.

On May 08, 2012 Times of India reported that a 40-year-old man was beaten to death for asking two persons to return 100 they had borrowed from him at a village in Sivaganga district on Sunday night. Police said Subramanian suffered a fatal fall after being kicked by the duo. “We have arrested the two and they have been remanded in custody,” said a police officer. The accused are relatives of the victim.

On May 08, 2012 Times of India reported that the CBI has arrested former Lucknow chief medical officer A K Shukla in connection with the murder case of his predecessor Vinod K Arya in October 2010. Shukla was arrested here late last night on charges of conspiring to kill Arya, a CBI spokesperson said. According to the CBI, the alleged motive behind the murder was the fear of being exposed for misappropriation of funds in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).

On May 08, 2012 DNA reported that city police have arrested a construction labourer on charges of killing his paramour and her 10-year-old son past Thursday. Rani, 30, a pourakarmika, and her son Praveen were found murdered in their home at Ambedkarnagar slum in Old Baiyappanahalli on May 3. Police found that M Tangamani, 27, Rani’s paramour, had strangled the mother-son duo. The police arrested him from Tamil Nadu.

On May 07, 2012 The Pioneer reported that Delhi Police on Sunday arrested three people, including a juvenile, for killing a 36-year-old man when he escaped after resisting the pickpocketing attempt by the gang in Mahendra Park area of Northwest Delhi. The accused identified as Pankaj (20), a resident of Shalimar Bagh, Bunty (23), of Samaypur Badli and the juvenile, alongwith an accomplice, stabbed Satpal Sisodiya with a sharp edged weapon at Azadpur Sabzi Mandi on Thursday.
