Jamshedpur: Fodder scam lands 41 behind bars
On January 19, 2012 Hindustan Times reported that Ranjit Singh was a treasury officer in the erstwhile undivided Bihar, who was posted in Jamshedpur for four consecutive years in the 90s. The general norm is two years at one place of posting. His tryst with destiny came on Wednesday with a special CBI court delivering four to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fines up to Rs 30 lakh to 41 out of the 61 accused convicted on Monday last for illegal withdrawal of Rs 14.52 crore from the Jamshedpur treasury between 1991 and 1995.
