On April 05, 2012 Times of India reported that Crime Investigation Department (CID) sleuths have arrested a Mumbai-based civil engineer for source code theft from a software training institute in the city. CID sleuths arrested 24-year-old Vivek Gharad of Mumbai. On March 15, CID sleuths received a complaint from the city-based Autocad software training firm located at Ameerpet alleging that their customised software training module was tampered with, stolen and put on sale by unidentified offenders. Based on the complaint, police booked cases under sections 66 r/w 43 (a), (b), (i) of IT (Amendment) Act 2008 and sections 379, 381 of the IPC and started a probe.

On April 03, 2012 Times of India reported that police arrested the cash boy who escaped with Rs 15 lakh, instead of loading it into the ATM at In Orbit mall a few days ago. The Madhapur police said Prabhakar Bonaparte of Indira Nagar, Banjara Hills, was an ATM custodian working for Writer Safe Guard Pvt Ltd. On March 27, Prabhakar had hoodwinked his colleagues, who were accompanying him to load cash at various ATMs in Madhapur, and escaped with Rs 15 lakh cash from the parking lot of In Orbit mall.

On March 29, 2012 Times of India reported that the KPHB police on Wednesday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of TDP leader K Chandrasekhar Reddy and confirmed that a property dispute was the reason behind the killing. Police have arrested Sriramulu, a history-sheeter in KPHB police station, and his associate Pasha Vali of Guntur, who, too, has a criminal record. Another suspect, Venkatesh Babu, also a local TDP leader in Kukatpally, is still absconding and a manhunt has been launched to nab him.

On March 29, 2012 Times of India reported that the Kacheguda police arrested a local BJP activist in a double murder case on Wednesday at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station. Police arrested A Ravi Shankar Goud of Methar Basti in Kacheguda for murdering his wife Renuka, 22, and brother-in-law Hari Kumar Goud, 19, at his house on March 24. Ravi Shankar married to Renuka of Adibatla village in Ibrahimpatnam in 2010. The couple has a year-old daughter.

On March 28, 2012 Times of India reported that Task Force sleuths have arrested three persons for duping several people to the tune of Rs 25 lakh by furnishing forged tax return forms to the IT department. In another case, a chit fund firm owner has been arrested for duping customers of Rs 50 lakh. Acting on a tip off, East Zone team of the Task Force arrested P Anand Reddy, a tax consultant, P Laxmi Narayana, a farmer from Anantapur and T Vivekananda Reddy, a real estate agent from Kukatpally. According to commissioner of police A K Khan, the prime accused, Anand Reddy, a tax consultancy from Anantapur, formed a gang with the other two accused a year ago to execute the fraud.

On March 28, 2012 Times of India reported that police on Tuesday arrested chairman of a shipping company for allegedly extorting Rs 2 crore from a citybased firm, Vijai Electricals Limited, by illegally holding back the consignment. The arrested accused is Puthalapattu Vishnukanth, chairman of Sarosh Shipping Private Limited, Somajiguda. According to CCS DCP J Satyanarayana, K Sharat Chandra, GM (Marketing) of EHV Power Transformers Division, Vijai Electricals Limited, lodged a complaint against Vishnukanth and Emlyn, sales director of the shipping firm, stating that the duo violated the shipping contract for transporting 13 transformers to Kenya and extorted up to Rs 2 crore additional amount.

On March 22, 2012 Times of India reported that Moghulpura police on Wednesday arrested two persons for tampering with ATM machines and fraudulently withdrawing cash. The arrested duo are Mohammed Sahil, 24 and Mohammed Moosa Ali, 21, both hailing from Kolkata. Explaining their modus operandi, Moghulpura inspector Syed Fayyaz said that the duo used to select ATM centres which had two or more machines. Using duct tape, they used to cover a small portion of the touch screen of one of the machines and then jam a key on the keypad using glue. “When a customer inserts the ATM card, the machine prompts for the PIN.

On March 22, 2012 Times of India reported that a TV anchor was stabbed by her husband, against whom she had lodged a harassment complaint a month back, in New Bhoiguda on Wednesday. She survived the bid on her life and is recuperating at Gandhi Hospital where she is said leging that he had been physically and mentally harassing her. She also alleged that Nagender, who runs a video recording and camera repair shop in Koti, had secretly recorded naked videos of her and was threatening to post them on the internet unless she did as he asked.
