Hyderabad: Civil engineer nabbed for source code theft
On April 05, 2012 Times of India reported that Crime Investigation Department (CID) sleuths have arrested a Mumbai-based civil engineer for source code theft from a software training institute in the city. CID sleuths arrested 24-year-old Vivek Gharad of Mumbai. On March 15, CID sleuths received a complaint from the city-based Autocad software training firm located at Ameerpet alleging that their customised software training module was tampered with, stolen and put on sale by unidentified offenders. Based on the complaint, police booked cases under sections 66 r/w 43 (a), (b), (i) of IT (Amendment) Act 2008 and sections 379, 381 of the IPC and started a probe.
