On April 30, 2012 Times of India reported that a house in Gowliguda was raided on Saturday night and Task Force sleuths arrested an engineering graduate who was allegedly organizing IPL betting racket. Acting on specific information, police arrested 21-year-old engineering student Ronak Mandhana, who was organising betting on IPL match between Team Punjab and Team Chennai. Police seized Rs 13,000 cash, a colour television, a cellphone and other material from his possession.

On April 27, 2012 Times of India reported that an accused in several fake currency cases was arrested by the Langer Houz police on Thursday. The man, Mohammed Ghouse, was nabbed near the Yakutpura railway station. Fake currency worth Rs two lakh was seized from his possession. Police said Ghouse, a resident of Yakutpura, was arrested based on the confession of Mohammed Abdul Aleem alias Arshad and Abdul Muqtadeer alias Imran, both residents of Borabanda.

On April 24, 2012 Times of India reported that the Banjara Hills police have arrested two brothers who were reportedly planning to kidnap affluent joggers at KBR Park to get rid of their financial problems, on Monday. Police arrested Vamsi Krishna, 32, and his brother Prasanna, 28, of Mallapur. According to Banjara Hills inspector M Sudarshan, the duo had been conducting a recce in the vicinity of KBR Park since the last 25 days with an intention to kidnap rich people and collect ransom from their family members.

On April 23, 2012 Times of India reported that a mobile phone shop owner, 30-year-old Mohammed Isa of Imad Nagar in Rajendra Nagar was allegedly murdered by his neighbour, Mohammed Atique, for sexually harassing his married sister. According to Rajendra Nagar inspector S Jayaram, Isa had been harassing Atique?s sister since a month. Despite several warnings from Atique and his family members, Isa did not mend his ways. On Sunday evening, when Atique?s sister was alone at her house in Imad Nagar, Isa entered the house and began misbehaving with her. She immediately alerted her brothers and Atique, his younger brother Aqueel and their friend Jahangir reached the spot.

On April 23, 2012 Times of India reported that a software professional working with Deloitte was murdered allegedly by his brother-in-law on Sunday. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Nandiraj Sri Sri of Sainathapuram, Neredmet. At around 5.30 pm, Nandiraj was returning home when his bike was hit by another two-wheeler at Neredmet. Both Nandiraj and the other rider fell on the road but after getting up, the other person allegedly launched an indiscriminate attack on Nandiraj. When he tried to resist the attacker, the assailant picked up a boulder and banged it on his head. With severe head injuries, Nandiraj died instantly.

On April 19, 2012 The Times of India reported that police on Wednesday arrested four persons allegedly hired by a deputy commercial tax officer (DCTO) to bump off his superior, who had reportedly sent adverse reports against him to the commissioner of commercial taxes. According to police, former Charminar DCTO Syed Bhasha Hussain had conspired to eliminate his superior T Raju, deputy commissioner, with the help of five associates on March 13.
