On October 11, 2011 Times of India reported that Madannapet police on Monday detained two Arab Sheiks and a marriage broker from the city for allegedly attempting to sexually exploit a young woman from the Old City. According to police, Hilal, 45, and Abdul Mahbub, 70, both hailing from Dubai, arrived in the city a fortnight ago looking for the company of a young girl. With the help of a citybased broker, Abdul Azeez, they approached a poor widow with a proposal to spend 20 days with her daughter by paying Rs 50,000.

On October 11, 2011 Times of India reported that Task Force sleuths apprehended five dacoits and recovered a fire arm along with two live rounds from their possession at SR Nagar on Monday. The arrested dacoits are Asghar Ali of Bihar, Avtar Singh Rana of Ghaziabad, Sushanth Kumar, Mohammed Rizwan and Satish of Delhi. According to police, Asghar is the gang leader. With an intention to commit robberies, Asghar purchased the country-made gun and two bullets from a person in Delhi by paying Rs 2,000.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old grocery store owner, Nirmala, of Ghatkesar. The incident happened at her residence at 11 pm on Sunday. The culprit, Venkatesh, is one of the tenants staying at the three-storied building of Nirmala.

On October 05, 2011 Times of India reported that the Rajendranagar police arrested a 25-year-old man in the triple murder. Police arrested D Praveen of Manikyanagar in Rajendranagar on Monday for the murder of his neighbour Yadaiah, a mason, his wife Geeta and their son Chandu. While Geeta and Chandu were found dead at their house on Saturday, Yadaiah’s body was found in a water body behind the Rajendranagar MRO office on Monday. Till Yadaiah’s body was found, police suspected that the mason was the culprit, but after he was found murdered, police started probing whether the family had any enemies.

On October 04, 2011 Times of India reported that Saroornagar police arrested two burglars and recovered Rs 3 lakh worth stolen property from them on Monday. The duo – V Satyanarayana of Gayatri Nagar and Sai Babu of Kurmaguda – committed six burglaries in the last few months at Saroornagar. Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed them while they were trying to dispose of the stolen booty. Six tola gold, one-and-half kilo silver, three laptops and an LCD TV were recovered from their possession.
