On February 07, 2012 Times of India reported that a State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) manager, who had siphoned off Rs. 75 lakh worth fixed deposits (FD) belonging to a customer, was arrested by the Madhapur police on Monday. Police arrested T Madhavi Prasanna, 45, of Nizampet, who was the manager of SBH branch at Mindspace Raheja near Hi-Tec City. In October 2011, AS Ravi Kumar, SBH general manager, Hyderabad, had lodged a complaint against Madhavi for stealing Rs 75 lakh FD amount belonging to a customer, Madhapur inspector K Srinath Reddy said. “Since then, she had been absconding and based on a specific alert, we arrested her from her relative’s house in Alwal on Monday,” the inspector added.

On February 06, 2012 Times of India reported that Punjagutta police on Sunday arrested five persons who kidnapped and extorted Rs 70,000 from a city-based realtor, Narendra Thukral, of RK Puram in Secunderabad. Police arrested A Santosh Reddy, a Visakhapatnam Dockyard employee, Rajesh Kumar, an employee of a nationalised bank, Prasad, a fashion designer, Janardhan, a marketing executive and Sai Krishna, a businessman from Visakhapatnam.

On February 03, 2012 Times of India reported that the Cyberabad police on Thursday said a dispute over sharing of money led to the murder of former naxalite Pushpa at Uppal recently. Announcing the arrest of six persons, including a constable of RR district police, the Uppal police said a dispute over an acre in Nanakramguda was the cause. Police said Sravan Kumar, Prabhakar, Ahmed, Ghouse, Hatiq, Kareem and Nayeem were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

On January 30, 2012 Times of India reported that the Madhapur police have arrested a 24-year-old thief and recovered 14 motorcycles from his possession on Monday. While conducting a vehicle check at Hi-Tec City, the Madhapur police intercepted Ravula Vinod of Sri Ram Nagar Colony near Masjidbanda, who was driving a stolen Pulsar bike. Vinod used to work as a housekeeping staff at an IT firm in Madhapur. As his income was not sufficient to lead a lavish life, Vinod decided to steal two-wheelers, Madhapur sub-inspector (SI) K Lakshmikanth said.

On January 30, 2012 Times of India reported that a woman was allegedly murdered by her son in Asad Baba Nagar on Sunday. Tahera Begum, 52, was allegedly killed by her 32-year-old son, Aleem, in their rented house. According to Bahadurpura police, late on Saturday night, Aleem woke up his neighbours saying that his family was attacked by unidentified miscreants. Aleem and Tahera were rushed to OGH later at night, where Tahera succumbed to her injuries. However, based on a complaint lodged by Tahera’s daughter Haleema, police interrogated Aleem, who confessed to killing his own mother.

On January 27, 2012 Times of India reported that police on Thursday arrested a RMP doctor and a scribe at Bowenpally for their alleged involvement in trade in deer skin. Police said that Ch Surender, a scribe in Nizamabad district, procured deer skin from Shamsher, a poacher. Surender came to Hyderabad on Thursday to sell the skin since there has been a heavy demand for deer skin of late. Upon interrogating Surender, police learnt that it was RMP doctor Laxman who had introduced Surender to Shamsher.
