As reported in the Times of India, Kumar (57) was arrested for failing to take care of his father Muthukrishnan (83) in Pattalam on June 23. Kumar harassed his father in spite of promising to pay Rs. 200 every month in front of the police in the past. He was booked under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
As published in the Times of India, Dattatraya Kate (26) was arrested for harassing an industrialist through SMSes and allegedly demanding money in Pune. He was trying to extort Rs.25 lakh from the industrialist.
As published in the Sakal, the police arrested seven persons for allegedly forcing a woman to commit suicide at her residence in Wadki on June 22, 2010 over a case of dowry. The victim, Sheetal Modak was reportedly facing harassment from her in-laws. A compliant has been lodged by the victim’s Father against Mahesh Modak, the victim’s husband, Sampat Modak and his family members. The police have arrested the victim’s mother-in-law Nanda Modak, Father-in-law Sampat Modak and sister-in-law Rashmi Modak.

As published in Deccan Herald, police has registered a case of attempt to murder against Padma after her husband Dhananjay committed suicide in Vijaynagar on June 16. Padma and Dhananjay had frequent quarrels and they had parted away sometime back. Padma had lodged a complaint of dowry harassment against Dhananjay and his brothers. The police is further looking into the case.

She & her husband were forced to live like siblings & also had paid a penalty as they belonged to the same village. All the accused are now absconding.
