On April 06, 2012 Times of India reported that police on Thursday arrested G Raju, 29, for the murder of a five-year-old boy who was his neighbour. Raju had abducted G Venkatesh, an LKG student, with a plan to extort money from his father. He subsequently killed the child.
On April 06, 2012 Times of India reported that the high court has refused bail to two Nigerian brothers who were arrested in December 2011 with 120 grams of cocaine. One of them, 28-year-old Onyekachi Kalu, was found to have overstayed in the country for eight months, an offence under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. The court, while rejecting bail, had asked the trial court to complete the process before July-end.

On April 05, 2012 Times of India reported that the doctor couple accused of locking up and starving a 13-year-old maid while vacationing in Thailand all of last week, was finally arrested on Wednesday near the Lifestyle Mall in Rajouri Garden, west Delhi. While an Interpol lookout notice had been issued against the accused, doctors Sanjay and Sumita Verma, sources said the two reached the city on March 30. They have been spending nights at parking lots of malls and gurdwaras, cops said.
On April 05, 2012 Times of India reported that Crime Investigation Department (CID) sleuths have arrested a Mumbai-based civil engineer for source code theft from a software training institute in the city. CID sleuths arrested 24-year-old Vivek Gharad of Mumbai. On March 15, CID sleuths received a complaint from the city-based Autocad software training firm located at Ameerpet alleging that their customised software training module was tampered with, stolen and put on sale by unidentified offenders. Based on the complaint, police booked cases under sections 66 r/w 43 (a), (b), (i) of IT (Amendment) Act 2008 and sections 379, 381 of the IPC and started a probe.

Working on a tip-off a joint team of Ranchi and Dhanbad police nabbed Thakur and recovered one .9 mm pistol and Rs. 3,200 cash from him, police said.

Rajarani (25) and her mother in-law Asha Bai (55) were presented before the local court. Rajarani is the wife of Rajesh Patel, a prime accused in the case, who was nabbed by the city crime branch from his in-law’s house in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, a team of cops raided a house in a village of Unnav district in Uttar Pradesh.

The man, identified as Sanatan Sardar, a resident of Kali Nagar in North 24-Parganas, was arrested on charges of kidnapping.
