On April 23, 2012 Ahmedabad Mirror reported that Vastrapur and Ellisbridge police arrested two people who tried to make money through satta betting on IPL matches. On Saturday night, ASI Naeem Khan and constables Ashish and Ketan during patrolling stopped Deepak Khabrani, 25, a resident of Bodakdev, while he passing by Bodakdev Road. On checking, the cops found receipts of money placed on satta betting.

Police recovered stolen items worth Rs. 4 lakh. A team of Cobra squad 2 on a tip off nabbed two burglars Vijay Verma of Genesh Dham and Ajay of Bholenath Colony. When quizzed they confessed their involvement in several burglaries in Banganga area.

On April 23, 2012 DNA reported that Gwalior police arrested three youths who allegedly abducted and gang raped a teenaged girl in Govindpuri area. The incident took place at Kosh Colony last evening when the victim was returning from a coaching institute. The accused Vishambhar Gurjar, Niranjan Gurjar and Rakesh Kushwaha, all in their twenties, were arrested late on Saturday night and booked under Section 376 (B) of the IPC.
