On May 09, 2012 Times of India reported that police have arrested a 33-year-old hotel worker who killed his 11-year-old nephew and fled from the city a month ago. The Mirchowk police arrested Mohammed Irfan of Panjesha. Two years ago, he lodged a complaint with the Mirchowk police alleging that his two-year-old daughter Ruksar was missing. Irfan told the cops that he suspected his brother-in-law Feroz Ahmed and sister Razia’s role in the incident.

On May 09, 2012 Bangalore Mirror reported that the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested two suspected terrorists belonging to the terror outfits, Lashkar-e-Toiba and the Indian Mujahideen. They have been identified as Syed Abdul Rehman (25), a resident of Chamarajpet who is said to be an LeT operative, and Mohammed Khafeel Akthar (26), a native of Bihar involved in Chinnaswamy stadium blast in April 2010. Rehman was planning to carry out blasts at important installations in the city and also planned to murder prominent Hindu leaders to disturb communal peace.

The accused identified as Dastagir, resided in the neighbourhood and had absconded after the incident. Police nabbed him from Juhapura.

On May 09, 2012 The Pioneer reported that Delhi Police have arrested a 52-year-old woman with fake currency worth Rs 34 lakh. The woman was involved in smuggling of fake currency from across the border to India. A week back, her son had been arrested along with another carrier, in a joint operation by the CBI and DRI. The woman identified as Iran Fatima worked as a “carrier” for the smugglers and has her relatives in Pakistan. She was arrested from Gokulpuri in Northeast Delhi on Monday after a tip-off.

On May 09, 2012 DNA reported that two prime accused in the shootout at Central Jail that took place about a week ago have been arrested. The accused Assu Thakur and Loku alias Lokesh had fled to Shirdi after police had launched an extensive search for them here. Acting on a tip off about their presence, cops reached an under construction house in Mitra Bandhu Nagar and arrested them from there. “The accused had entered into an argument with some goons present on jail premises who had come to visit other inmates. In an attempt to intimidate them, one of them whipped out a pistol, which accidentally fired, injuring one.

The deceased has been identified as Krishnaveni, 40, and the incident happened at Motappana Palya in the Indiranagar police station limits. Her husband Perumal reportedly hit her head with a hammer. He is a scrap dealer and owns an old newspaper mart in the area.

On May 09, 2012 Times of India reported that the Hinjewadi police on Monday arrested a 25-year-old brick kiln labourer for allegedly raping an eight-year-old daughter of another labourer. The incident took place in Punawale on Sunday evening. He also tried to kill the girl by throwing her into a well, but she, somehow, managed to come out of the well, which was mostly dry, after two hours, and told about the incident to her parents.
