On May 10, 2012 Ahmedabad Mirror reported that a team of Special Operation Group on Wednesday raided a shop in Narayan Chambers on Ashram Road and seized more than 200 fake certificates, PAN cards, voters’ ID card. The sleuths arrested Madan Kumar Jha, a resident of Darbhanga in Bihar, who owns Twinkle Copier and Graphic Centre in the building.

On May 10, 2012 DNA reported that four criminals a Guna- based Pardhi gang were arrested from Jhalwar district of Rajasthan by Indore police in connection with timber merchant Jasbir Chhabra’s murder and Rs. 25 lakh robbery at his residence in Khatwiala Tank. Police are treading cautiously in the case as they are close to arresting kingpin Suraj Pardhi, who carries a reward of Rs. 10000 on his arrest.

On May 10, 2012 Times of India reported that the police busted a credit card cloning racket with the arrest of two persons. The accused had used the cloned cards to purchase goods worth Rs. 5.25 lakh at a Borivli mall. The accused have a police record and 42 cases have been registered against them in Gujarat and Goa. According to the police, the gang’s kingpin is based in Rajasthan.

On May 09, 2012 DNA reported that two prime accused in the shootout at Central Jail that took place about a week ago have been arrested. The accused Assu Thakur and Loku alias Lokesh had fled to Shirdi after police had launched an extensive search for them here. Acting on a tip off about their presence, cops reached an under construction house in Mitra Bandhu Nagar and arrested them from there. “The accused had entered into an argument with some goons present on jail premises who had come to visit other inmates. In an attempt to intimidate them, one of them whipped out a pistol, which accidentally fired, injuring one.

On May 08, 2012 Times of India reported that a 40-year-old man was beaten to death for asking two persons to return 100 they had borrowed from him at a village in Sivaganga district on Sunday night. Police said Subramanian suffered a fatal fall after being kicked by the duo. “We have arrested the two and they have been remanded in custody,” said a police officer. The accused are relatives of the victim.
