On May 07, 2012 DNA reported that an MBA graduate was caught for harassing a married woman for last couple of weeks in Juni Indore area. A woman had filed complaint with We Care For You cell of police against an unidentified person stating that the caller was sending her unsolicited messages and making calls on her mobile phone insisting for a friendship. Police traced the accused in Bhopal and asked the victim to call him here on pretext of meeting him.

On May 07, 2012 DNA reported that the city police on Sunday nabbed two persons for illegally smuggling 2,760 kg of doda post (poppy seeds) and attempting to injure a police official. The consignment of doda post was confiscated and the police are now questioning the arrested men. According to the police, the police received a tip-off regarding illegal doda post being transported from the city. A team was formed to nab these smugglers.

On May 07, 2012 Mid-Day reported that accused lost his balance while snatching a chain and was trapped under the skidding motorcycle; vendors nabbed him at the spot in an ironic twist, a stolen bike helped nab a notorious chain snatcher near Andheri station. A duo of snatchers made an attempt to rob a lady near the Station Road, and in the process of trying to flee, lost balance of the bike.

On May 07, 2012 Times of India reported that a 20-year-old girl was kidnapped from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district two months ago and gangraped by three men for over two months in Dholpur. When the girl developed ilness, she was handed over to a quack who also allegedly raped her for several days. On Saturday, the girl somehow managed to escape from the house of the quack and approached police. After she narrated her horror of torture she went through, the case was handed over to the anti-human traffic cell of the local police.

On May 04, 2012 Times of India reported that domestic help M Rani, 30, and her son M Praveen Kumar, 10, were found murdered on Thursday in their tiny house in Ambedkarnagar slum, Old Byappanahalli off Old Madras Road. There were most likely strangled to death as there were strangulation marks on their necks. Two suspects, Nandamani and Karthick, both allegedly having an illicit relationship with Rani, are absconding.

On May 04, 2012 Times of India reported that a special CBI court has handed life imprisonment to a man in a case of unnatural sex-cum-murder involving a minor. The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 70,000 on the convict, Anilmon Thomas, who was working as a forest watcher when the incident took place in 2006. CBI investigation revealed that Ajin, aged 14 years, resident of Mankurissi, Palakkad District had left his house on May 11, 2006 to Malampuzha Dam during his summer vacation.

He even stabbed his wife and attacked her with a hammer, accusing her of supporting their daughter. She has been admitted to VS Hospital. Mahendra Dantani, 40, a daily wager, lives with his wife Geeta, 35 at Girnari ni Chali near Chandrabhaga, Sabarmati. Married for 17 years, they have four children Anita, 16, Rinku, 14, Sarika, 10 and Jignesh, 6.

On May 03, 2012 Mid-Day reported that three years ago, the 26-year-old Mira Road resident was stabbed to death by her lover, who then attempted to kill himself “ The judgement does not mean much to me and my family,” said Lincoln Fernandes, father of 26- year- old Paloma, who was stabbed to death by her boyfriend on January 28, 2009 at her Mira Road residence. The killer, Aquino Martis, has now been sentenced to life imprisonment by Thane District and Sessions Court judge AA Sayeed.
