On May 02, 2012 DNA reported that a sessions court on Tuesday sent one person to two years imprisonment for selling land on forged documents. The accused Mushtaq Beig, a resident of Iliyas Colony, had sold 18,000 sq ft land to petitioner Abdul Rashid Khan of Khajrana. Beig had used forged documents to show that the land was his and had completed the sale from August 18, 1998 to November 21, 1998. Later, the appellant found out that the original land owner was not Beig but one Ramgopal Hakimchand. A complaint was filed with Khajrana police and a case was presented before lower court, in which Beig was held guilty and sentenced to two -years imprisonment and fine of `2000.

On May 02, 2012 Times of India reported that anti-human trafficking cell of Dholpur police on Monday arrested three persons for allegedly purchasing and keeping a minor girl in hostage. They found the girl in the Taajpur village under the Basedi police station. According to the officials, the girl hails from a village in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh and was allegedly sold by her mother and maternal aunt to a man in Dholpur, who resold her to another man. On April 30, 2012 Times of India reported that a senior citizen was killed on the spot after Tumkur Rural MLA B Suresh Gowda’s speeding multi-utility vehicle (MUV) ran over him at Doddeguppa, near Nelamangala, on Tumkur Road on Sunday. Eyewitnesses said the legislator’s Toyota Innova knocked down 69-year-old Thimma Hanumaiah, who was crossing the road in front of SLV marriage hall around 11 am. As a badly injured Hanumaiah lay in a pool of blood, the MLA is said to have got down from his vehicle, boarded another car following his and left the spot, without offering any help to the victim.
