Indore: Man gets 2 years imprisonment for land fraud
On May 02, 2012 DNA reported that a sessions court on Tuesday sent one person to two years imprisonment for selling land on forged documents. The accused Mushtaq Beig, a resident of Iliyas Colony, had sold 18,000 sq ft land to petitioner Abdul Rashid Khan of Khajrana. Beig had used forged documents to show that the land was his and had completed the sale from August 18, 1998 to November 21, 1998. Later, the appellant found out that the original land owner was not Beig but one Ramgopal Hakimchand. A complaint was filed with Khajrana police and a case was presented before lower court, in which Beig was held guilty and sentenced to two -years imprisonment and fine of `2000.
