Acting on a tip-off, a Task Force team laid a trap for Asghar bin Ali and caught him red-handed while he was accepting Rs.10,500 bet from a punter in Old Malakpet on Sunday night. The arrested person along with the seized cash was handed over to the Chaderghat police.

Police arrested K Venkata Ratna Reddy, 36, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Guntur. Acting on a complaint lodged by Kalyan two days ago, a Task Force team began tracking the movements of Reddy and nabbed him when he was waiting for a friend on Road Number 14, Banjara Hills, on Monday morning. Introducing himself as additional commissioner, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Ratna Reddy made a phone call to Kalyan on May 11.
