On April 19, 2012 The Times of India reported that cyber crime sleuths have arrested a citybased youth for posting nude videos of a woman software engineer on social networking sites. In another incident, a former private bank employee was arrested for raping a sales executive and posting the video of the act on the internet. In the first case, Vishal Madipalli, 24, of Ram Nagar, who finished MS from the UK and returned to Hyderabad in January 2012, was arrested.

On April 19, 2012 The Times of India reported that police on Wednesday arrested four persons allegedly hired by a deputy commercial tax officer (DCTO) to bump off his superior, who had reportedly sent adverse reports against him to the commissioner of commercial taxes. According to police, former Charminar DCTO Syed Bhasha Hussain had conspired to eliminate his superior T Raju, deputy commissioner, with the help of five associates on March 13.

On April 19, 2012 The Times of India reported that the city police have taken two persons into custody in connection with the online fraud in which an online banking account of a doctor in the city was hacked by fraudsters and Rs 11.14 lakh was siphoned off from his account in a single day. Police sources said that the two were taken into custody from Andhra Pradesh after a police team led by assistant commissioner Sunil Jacob and central police circle inspector D S Suneesh Babu conducted a detailed probe into the incident. The name of the suspects were said to be Ali and Jaffar.

On April 19, 2012 The Times of India reported that the court of additional sessions judge S P Tavade on Wednesday sentenced four people, including three brothers, to life imprisonment for the murder of a cable operator, Vijay Gorakh Kokare, in 2008. Gulab Zombade (35), his brothers Navnath (33) and Umesh (25) and Sachin Chavan (23), all residents of Chinchwad, were further sentenced to three months and a year’s rigorous imprisonment for unlawful assembly and rioting. The sentences will run concurrently.
