Kochi: Auto-rickshaw driver arrested for attacking a family
On May 18, 2012 Times of India reported that an autorickshaw driver was held by the police on Thursday for attacking a family which had come to Kochi from New Delhi as tourists. The arrested was identified as Salahuddin, 28, of Pallilankara, Kalamassery. The accused was along with a group of auto drivers who attacked the family comprising women. The incident occurred when the family was returning to New Delhi from Kochi after spending their vacation in Kerala. It was on May 11 that the family of Prem Malhotra of Rani Bagh, New Delhi, hired three autos to go to the KSRTC bus stand. While two auto drivers demanded Rs. 50 from the family members, the third driver demanded Rs. 80, to which the family members objected.
