Bangalore: Accountant held for staging fake robbery to cheat boss

On February 22, 2012 Bangalore Mirror reported that an accountant working in a poultry farm in Chikmagalur, who attempted to cheat his boss by staging a fake robbery, has been remanded in judicial custody. Police said he broke down within 10 minutes of interrogation and confessed. Chikmagalur police said the owner of the farm sent the accountant, Shakti Prasad (24), to a bank to draw a sum of Rs 3.90 lakh on Saturday. In the evening, he called his boss to inform him that some miscreants came in a Bolero car, threw chilli powder on his face and robbed him of the money and his mobile phone.
