Chennai: Notorious criminal, gang leader nabbed by authorities

On January 27, 2012 Times of India reported that the sensational 31 kg gold heist at Amar Jewellery House here is close to being solved with the arrest in Meerut of notorious criminal and gang leader Mohan Singh. The Trichy police said the dreaded criminal had more than 150 cases registered against him, from Noida to Tirunelveli. Police officers who were part of a 27-member Tamil Nadu police team headed by DCP (traffic and crime) Ramaiyyan that arrested 44-year-old Mohan Singh said the gangster was brought to Trichy by air immediately after he was nabbed in Meerut on Tuesday.
