Pune: Man apprehended with opium worth Rs 4.87 lakh

On January 25, 2012 DNA reported that the anti-narcotics cell of the Pune police arrested a suspect for allegedly possessing opium weighing 3.25 kg, valued at Rs 4.87 lakh at Hotel Seven Loves Chowk on Monday evening. The suspect was identified as Jayantilal Pragachi Mali (37), a resident of Bhawani Peth and hails from Shiroli district in Rajasthan. The police acted on a tip-off received by constables Vasudev Patil and Sushil Kakade that a suspect has brought opium from Rajasthan and was selling it at Hotel Seven Loves Chowk.
