On January 24, 2012 Ahmedabad Mirror reported that a friend turned foe’s attempt to eliminate three youngsters took toll on one’s life and landed two others in hospital. The accused apparently nurtured grudges against the three for coming close to his sister’s friend. On Sunday evening, accused Kamal alias Raju Yadav, 27, invited his friends Manish Rathod, 19, Pankaj Upadhayay, 26 and Mangal Prajapati, 21, to his birthday treat at a garden opposite Sales India in Motera. Around 10.30 pm, all the four gathered at the decided spot. The accused had brought liquor and dabeli for the three.
