Chennai: Woman arrested for kidnapping infant

On December 30, 2011 Times of India reported that police on Wednesday arrested a 34-year-old woman on charges of kidnapping an eight-month-old boy from his grandmother Lakshmi, a tender coconut seller, at MKB Nagar on Monday. The accused, S Teresa, had abandoned R Sanjay at the house of her aunt Amalorpava Mary on learning that a hunt was on for her, police said. Teresa was booked under IPC Section 363 A (kidnapping a minor child for begging) and sent to the Institute of Mental Health in Kilpauk for observation.
