On December 15, 2011 Pune Mirror reported that police have arrested a man from Kerala for obtaining divorce from his first wife by getting another woman to pose as his wife in a family court. The accused, V P Sivakumar, was nabbed from his farmhouse at Chinnanathampalyam about 30 km from Coimbatore on Tuesday night, police said. Police also arrested Sivakumar’s parents on charges of helping their son to commit the crime. Sivakumar, who was working in Australia, married his first wife in 2004. Last July, he took the help of two lawyers and produced a proxy in a family court to get divorce.
