On December 13, 2011 Times of India reported that a 24-year-old youth was arrested on Sunday for manhandling a traffic policeman. The incident took place around 7 pm at Shastrinagar Chowk in Yerawada. The Yerawada police have identified the youth as Kalpesh Mohan Jain of Ganesh Peth. According to police sub-inspector A D Sonawane of the Yerawada police station, police constable Vishal Shirke was manning the traffic at Shastri Chowk in Yerawada on Sunday evening. “He asked Jain to stop as he was riding his motorcycle on the wrong side of the road. Jain manhandled Shirke after he was forcibly stopped by him,” Sonawane said.
