On December 08, 2011 Pune Mirror reported that Dehu Road police are on the lookout for a space engineer from Tata Motors, who allegedly repeatedly raped a 26-year-old software engineer from Nigdi after promising to marry her. Chintamani Chakor Belgaonkar (26) was accused of ‘creating an illusion of a marriage’ by garlanding the victim at the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple a year ago. Later, the accused started avoiding the victim and refused to take her to his parents’ home. She then approached the police and on Tuesday, lodged a complaint of rape and cheating against him. She also filed a private criminal complaint at the Vadgaon Maval court of judicial magistrate (first class).
