Noida: Ghatkopar blast accused nabbed by ATS

On November 23, 2011 Times of India reported that a man who had been acquitted in the 2002 Ghatkopar blast case was arrested by a joint team of UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) and Tamil Nadu Special Investigation Team (TN SIT) from Noida on Tuesday. Taufiq Ahmed (35) alias Abdullah alias Rafiq was arrested from Morna bus stand near Noida City Centre Metro station. A team led by DSP Sampath Kumar and Noida police claimed Taufiq, a key member of the Muslim Defence Force that has strong links with the Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was wanted in a 2008 explosives case in Tamil Nadu.
