Pune: Duo nabbed by crime branch over extortion
On November 14, 2011 Pune Mirror reported that While police are yet to ascertain the involvement of notorious criminal Sharad Mohol and his men in the alleged kidnapping-ransom case of Dasve Sarpanch, his name seems to be cropping up everywhere! In need of money, it has turned out, youths are using Mohol’s name to extort money from citizens and issue threats. Police, however, have decided to leave no stone unturned in investigating Mohol’s possible link to each of the cases. The city crime branch on Saturday arrested two suspects, identified as Sanjay Warghade (21) of Karvenagar and Prasad Wagh (27) from the slums located near Dandekar bridge for allegedly extorting a medical practitioner in the city.
