On October 26, 2011 The Pioneer reported that Five persons in the city have been booked for allegedly murdering a woman for dowry. It has been alleged that the victim’s husband and his family members poisoned her following which she died in a hospital here late on Monday. The city police have booked five persons on charges of dowry death on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim’s father. No one, however, has been arrested in this connection so far. According police, a resident of Old Kacheri, Nitu was married to a resident of Ahbabnagar colony here, Suraj about six years back.
