Chennai: Man arrested for blackmailing school principal
On October 20, 2011 Times of India reported that the Tirumangalam police have arrested a 37-year-old man on charges of blackmailing students and principal of a school. The man, president of the parent-teacher association of private school had managed to collect pictures of some students and teachers taking bath and threatened to make them public if his children’s fees weren’t paid, police said. Police said the principal had accompanied several students on an excursion to Wayanad in Kerala in March last year. Later, the accused, G Muthurajan, collected the pictures from some students who had shot them using cameras and mobile phone cameras during the trip. “Muthurajan then started blackmailing the principal, asking her to pay the annual fee for his children who study in the same school,” Tirumangalam inspector Frank D Ruban told TOI.
