Pune: Company director apprehended in PF fraud
On October 14, 2011 Pune Mirror reported that viman Nagar police have arrested the director of an Australian E-publishing company in Bangalore for alleged involvement in a Provident Fund fraud to the tune of Rs two crore. Mahadev Ramchandrappa Gowda (50), was arrested for allegedly violating Sections 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code. Cops are on the lookout for the other accused, director Ananda Rao, allegedly in Australia. Complaints against Gowda and Rao, directors of Merlion Conversion Lab were lodged in January 2011 by PF inspector Bhalchandra Borkar.
