Darjeeling: Man convicted for flesh trade and kidnapping

On September 22, 2011 Hindustan Times reported that the Darjeeling sessions judge on Wednesday convicted a man on charges of kidnapping and forcing girls into flesh trade. Despite being handed a prison sentence by additional sessions judge Ashok Kumar Paul, Binay Lama is yet to reveal out the whereabouts of a girl he abducted in 2007. The judge sentenced Lama to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and pronounced a fine of R50,000. Charged under Section 365 and Section 366A of the Indian Penal Code, Lama will have to spend additional 15 months behind the bars if he refuses pay the fine.
