Chennai: Doctor held on charges of rape and cheating a woman

On September 21, 2011 Times of India reported that the Harbor police on Tuesday arrested a doctor working at Port Trust Hospital on charges of rape and cheating. The doctor promised to marry a woman, a relative of his, and backed out later. The police said S Taneeswaran, a temporary doctor at Port Trust Hospital, had been having a relationship with G Vishalatchi (26) of Korrukupet since 2009. “They were living together. He promised her to marry her,” a police officer said.
