Pune: Murder case accused flees, cop held for carelessness

On September 19, 2011 Pune Mirror reported that the city police have registered a case against police naik S S Patil, from whose custody Yogesh Raut, the prime accused in the gangrape and murder of Nayana Pujari, escaped from the Sassoon General Hospital on Saturday. Patil, who was produced in Shivajinagar court, was remanded in police custody till September 25. He has been booked under section 225 (Resistance or obstruction to lawful apprehension of another person) of the IPC.
