On September 20, 2011 The Pioneer reported that three more persons were arrested last week in connection with the Roorkee deputy jailer, Narendra Thapa's murder taking the total number of arrests in the case so far to four. Senior officers said that few more names have come up during police investigations and that they would be arrested soon. The three arrested on Monday have been identified as residents of Muzaffarnagar, Mohit Saini and residents of Mangalore, – Vipin Jain and Vicky. Police said that while Saini was involved in the conspiracy to plant a bomb in the deceased deputy jailor's vehicle on August 31, Jain and Vicky were actively involved in the murder.
