On September 16, 2011 Times of India reported that the two persons arrested by the Kancheepuram police for the murder on Monday of Tamil actor Vichitra’s father at a farmhouse on the Chennai-Bangalore highway have confessed to having committed another murder in June this year. Addressing mediapersons on Thursday, inspector-general of police C. Shylendra Babu said Suresh and Velan, both fishermen, thought actor Vichitra would be at the farmhouse clad in her jewellery. Vichitra stays in Punewithher husband. The duo said they broke into the farmhouse near Sunguvarchatram, about 50 km from here, and took away 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs. 10,000 in cash before stabbing Vichitra’s father Wilson, 65, and injuring her mother Mary Vasanthi, 60.
