Chennai: Police arrested former convict for cheating

On September 12, 2011 Times of India reported that Neelankarai police on Saturday arrested a former convict who tried to cheat a man of Rs 1.5 lakh. The accused pose as an informer and tried to run away with the money but police nabbed him on East Cost Road. Police said R Saravanan of Nanganallur visited an amusement park on East Cost Road on July 23 with his family. His car was stolen from the parking lot. He lodged police complaint. Last week, Saravanan published advertisements in newspapers with his phone number seeking information about his car.
