According to customs officials the passenger, Tasaduq Hussain Joo, arrived from Almaty (Kazakhstan) by flight KC-907. Upon suspicion, he was subjected to detailed examination.

On September 30, 2011 Times of India reported that a month after an employee of Baroda Heart Institute (BHI) was looted of Rs 5 lakh in broad daylight, the crime branch has arrested a student of a private engineering college along with two others for the crime. The accused planned the loot meticulously months before committing the crime. The trio, all residents of Navayard, was arrested on Thursday and Rs 4.42 lakh was recovered from them along with a cell phone. Police said Bhavesh Makwana, 18, is studying in third semester of engineering at Sigma Institute located on the outskirts of the city.

On September 30, 2011 Mid-Day reported that a Delhi police constable, identified as Tanveer, was allegedly shot dead by property dealers Ravinder and Pradeep, residents of Ranhola area, on Wednesday night. Reportedly, the dealers wanted to grab an empty plot in the area and Tanveer was looking into the matter. On the ill-fated night, Tanveer was alone at his rented accommodation when he was shot five times.

On September 30, 2011 Times of India reported that a 65-year-old man was assaulted to death by a shopkeeper and his two sons because the old man demanded replacement for a packet of spoilt milk. The incident took place at Bhavani Peth on Wednesday morning. The Khadak police arrested the shopowner, Badshah Shaikh, 50, and his sons Sadik, 23, and Fazal, 20, on Thursday. The deceased, Abdul Rahman Sayed, lived in the neighbourhood.

On September 30, 2011 The Pioneer reported that the district police claimed to have solved a murder case in which a youth was stabbed to death in Hanumanganj area on Wednesday. A youth was arrested in this regard. Notably, a youth, Akash Pal (22), was stabbed over a petty issue and the dead body was found at Vihar Ground under Hanumanganj police station area. SHO Hanumanganj Umashankar Tiwari said that some documents were found lying near the body of the victim by which the police came to know that Pal used to sell key-ring on the trains.
