On August 29, 2011 The Pioneer reported that the Commisionerate Police have arrested the main accused involved in the murder of a Ganjam based youth Niranajn Nahak, who was found dead on Janpath with stabbing wounds on August 22. One mobile phone, one suitcase and a bag were found nearby. Speaking at a Press conference here on Sunday, Police Commissioner BK Sharma said Niranjan used to work in different hotels and on August 22 night, he had shelter on the footpath near the spot. About 2 am the accused Kabu Behera who is charged under motor cycle theft cases attempted to snatch away the suitcase of the deceased and when he resisted he was attacked with a knife leading to his death at the spot.
