Jamshedpur: Six prisoners escape from jail
On August 18, 2011 The Pioneer reported that in a Bollywood flick style six prisoners including two hardcore Naxalites escaped from Seraikela Jail on Wednesday evening overpowering the jailer with gun point. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Kumar said that Maoist rebels Sumra Hansda, involved in 30 criminal cases, and another hardcore Naxalite Balram Sahu alies who was recently brought on transit from Ranchi, overpowered the jailer on gun-point and ran away from the main gate. Four other inmates also escaped during the chaos. Those are Bablu Baghchi, Ravi Singh Munda, Ganesh Pramanik and Rakhal Kandiya. “We are investigating the matter and we have also detained the jail guard,” informed a police official.
