Ahmedabad: Man convicted for killing five of a family in Dubai
On August 18, 2011 Times of India reported that after a two-decade long trial, a special CBI court on Wednesday held a 53-year-old tribal from south Gujarat, Ravji Manu Pawar, guilty of committing five murders in Dubai. The court is likely to pronounce the quantum of punishment on Thursday morning. A native of Dholar village in Navsari district, Pawar was working as a domestic help to Ramesh Sagar and his family in Dubai. On Januray 4, 1992, Sagar, his mother Muliben, wife Rajori, daughter Jyoti and son Jayesh were killed with a cricket bat and other weapons. Their relatives living in Dubai came to know about the incident the following day. Police lodged a complaint and forwarded it to their Indian counterpart.
