Hyderabad: Women burnt alive by their husbands
On August 10, 2011 Times of India reported that two women were battling for their lives after they were set on fire by their husbands, while another woman, vexed with her husband’s harassment, ended her life by torching herself in different incidents in the state. A newly-married woman, Devi, was rushed to Narsapur government hospital in West Godavari district after her husband Ramesh poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. She suffered 75 percent burns. They were married only three months ago but Ramesh started suspecting Devi’s fidelity. In a fit of rage, he set her ablaze at their home in Narsapur in the early hours of Tuesday.
