On August 10, 2011 The Pioneer reported that a hardcore Maoist, who surrendered with arms in Naxal-hit Giridih district here at Circuit House on Tuesday, claimed that he was subjected to mental torture at forest camps. While he was tortured by senior Maoist leaders, no one dared to raise a voice against them, alleged Babul Mani, who surrendered before Giridih Superintendent of Police AB Homkar with a rifle, police said. Babul Mani, a resident of Gaganpur Chatro in Giridih, hails from mofussil area in Giridih district.
