Haridwar: Trio sentenced to 3 years jail for attacking forest employees
On July 29, 2011 The Pioneer reported that three persons accused of attacking forest employees in Rajaji National Park two years ago, were each sentenced to three years of imprisonment on Wednesday. Session judge, Sankar Raj gave the verdict in the case. The accused have also been charged with a fine of Rs. 10,000 each, failing which their terms will be extended by three more months. According to the police, a forest employee, Ichharam Nautiyal, along with his colleagues, Bhuvan Chand and Prithivi Singh was on a routine patrol in the Dholkhand range of Rajaji National Park on June 19, 2009. The trio spotted around ten persons roaming in the protected forest area and started querying into the matter.
