Patiala: Police nabs man with 22 kgs of opium

On July 11, 2011 Hindustan Times reported that as the police on Saturday arrested a Fatehgarh Sahib resident on charge of smuggling 22 kg of opium from Madhya Pradesh into the state. Police said the suspect, Avtar Singh, was apprehended during a routine checking at the Rohtiwala bridge. The suspect tried to give police the slip, when he was signalled to stop.
