Mysore: Duo rapes Australian tourist
On June 28, 2011 Times of India reported that a 26-year-old Australian nurse, who came to Mysore for its tourist spots and to learn yoga and French, was allegedly sexually abused on June 24 by two youths from Channapatna town who had known her for a short while. “She is frightened and in deep shock,” said a police officer. The tourist came here on June 11 and was befriended by the accused, Chandra Vishwas, 24, of Channapatna, at a hotel. Vishwas took advantage of this and committed the crime in Channapatna along with his relative Shrunkal Gowda, a BBM student, police said. She told police she wanted to visit a friend in Bangalore and boarded a bus from Mysore on Friday morning.
