Jamshedpur: Fake currency racket uncovered – Two held
On June 07, 2011 The Pioneer reported that in a major breakthrough, the police on Monday busted a fake currency racket by arresting two persons from Hata under Potka police station area of the East Singhbhum district. Fake currency notes worth Rs. 45,500 were recovered from Sambhu Das and Mithun Ray, both residents of Haldipokhar in Potka block. Both arrested duo, in their early thirties, were wanted in a number of cases, including forgery and loot in at least three police stations in the district. When contacted superintendent of police (rural) Ranjit Prasad said acting on a tip off a police team nabbed the two racketeers. After the fake currency notes were recovered from them, the police arrested him. “After receiving the information, we constituted a team to execute the operation.
