West Bengal: Hospital staff in trouble over cheating allegations
On June 03, 2011 Hindustan Times reported that a group D staff of Burdwan Medical College and Hospital has been accused of taking Rs. 400 from a patient’s relative to supply an injection on Thursday. Anarkoli Bibi has lodged a complaint with the hospital authorities against Hiralal Ram, who has denied the allegation. “A monkey bit my six-year-old daughter Barsha Khatun in the left hand on Sunday. We live at Fagupur village in Burdwan. We took her to the outpatient department of Burdwan Medical College and Hospital on Monday. The doctor prescribed an antirabies injection. He asked us to buy the injection from outside. A Group D staff, Hiralal Ram, came to us and asked for Rs. 400 for providing this injection. We gave him Rs. 200 but he did not provide the injection,“ Anarkoli told HT.
