Mysore: Professor arrested for sexual harassment

On March 10, 2011 Times of India reported that zoology professor Shivabasavaiah, who is facing criminal charges of sexual harassment, was arrested by the city police on Wednesday and released on bail by the court. Shivabasavaiah, the prime accused in the sexual harassment case, had been absconding after research scholar M Saritha lodged a complaint against him on Sunday. He was booked under section 354 of IPC. Investigation officer A K Suresh told TOI that the professor came with a lawyer and surrendered before him on Wednesday.
